First, it was Cavs' LeBron James vs Warriors' Kevin Durant "KD" vying  for the win. In the end, it became Warriors' Kevin Durant "KD" vs Cavs' Stephen Curry competing for MVP title.

 KD won both: Warriors beat Cavs, 4-1 to with NBA 2017 Finals, the second in 3 years. In Game 5, the Warriors beat the Cavaliers 129-120. KD, in his first year with Golden State Warriors was unstoppable, and ended up with the MVP award. He outshined LeBron James.

Kevin Durant is the sixth player to score 30 or more points in each game of a NBA championship round. Others who came before KD are Elgin Baylor, in 1962, Rick Barry in 1967, Michael Jordan in 1993, Hakeem Olajuwon in 1995 and Shaquille O'Neal, in 2000 and 2002.

Stephen Curry averaged 26.8 points per game, after he missed the last game, with only 14 points.
The Warriors deserved the win and they got it. KD deserved the win and the MVP award and he got them.
