Rwandan  activist  Idamange Iryamugwiza Yvonne  was arrested by Rwandan national police, known as RNB, in the evening of February 15, 2021. However, according to news received from sources close to the Rwandan security services,  the arrest, as described by the Rwandan National Police, was allegedly executed following a failed assassination ordered by a person close to the  ailing Rwandan dictator General Paul Kagame.  Ms Idamange Iryamugwiza Yvonne became suddenly a prominent activist after she made statements and recorded videos that went viral on social media, pointing to widespread assassinations  and disappearances of opposition leaders and government critics and abuses, corruption and other massacres by the Rwandan governent and military and the ailing Rwandan dictator General Paul Kagame (see AfroAmerica Network here:

A Brutal Arrest After Threats  by Cold-Blooded Officials.

Officially, Ms Yvonne Idamange Iryamugwiza was arrested and charged with inciting public disorder, resisting lawful arrest, and aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer.  Early in the day of her arrest, Ms Idamange had published a video on her YouTube channel saying that she was expecting an imminent arrest, was fearing for her life, and was ready to die, if necessary, but will continue to speak the truth.

She had been under  increasing  threats and intimidations from Rwandan government officials, including  Edward Bamporiki, the  State Minister in charge of culture in the Ministry of Youth and Culture, police commanders, and  agents withing the presidential guard, over the last days. According to the same sources, Edward Bamporiki is well known for  being a cold-blooded politician, even against his own close relatives and parents, whom he accused, on several occasions, of being opposed to the government, during public official meetings, some attended by General Paul Kagame and his wife, Janet Kagame.

A Failed Planned Assassination, Followed by Arrest,  Terrorizing Children, and Widespread Destruction of Property

The Rwandan national police entered Ms Idamange Iryamugwiza Yvonne's property, breaking the locked gate and the doors.

Upon her arrest, the police sent out a  formal statement alleging that Ms Yvonne Idamange Iryamugwiza  “used a bottle to cause head injuries to the officer who was immediately taken to Kacyiru District Hospital for medical attention.”  In the statement, the police also  said that Ms Yvonne Idamange  Iryamukwiza is  accused of having  “exhibited behaviour that mixes politics, criminality, and madness,” using media platforms.

But the rushed statement and the accusation of attacking a police officer appeared to be a setup. In fact, a few hours before the arrest, a gouvernment run media started sending out tweets, in which they claimed there were reports that  Ms Idamange Iryamugwiza Yvonne had commited suicide.  Sources sent to AfroAmerica Network some of the screens shots of the tweets, that were later deleted,  in the local  Kinyarwanda langage  (see one screenshot).

The sources said that the tweets were to prepare for the assassination of  Ms Yvonne Idamange Iryamugwiza   and then claim that she committed  suicide.  Incidently, when the  two police  officers who had the mission to assassinate the activist  broke into the property, Ms Yvonne Idamange Iryamugwiza  and others, including her children, were waiting for them and started taking videos and sharing them. When the police found out that the videos were already leaked, they devised another plan. One police officer hit the other on the head with a riffle, causing an injury.  They then made more destructions to the property so that they may claim a violent resistence.

Ms Yvonne Idamange Iryamugwiza was then accused of using  "a bottle to cause head injuries to the officer who was immediately taken to Kacyiru District Hospital for medical attention,”  when the officer was, according to the sources,  purposely injured by the colleague to cover up the failed assassination attempt.

According to the sources, Ms Yvonne Idamange Iryamugwiza is now being held in and moved around secret torture cells. The names of some people, among General Paul Kagame's closest aides, who allegedly gave the assassination order were cited. Apparently, the ailing General Paul Kagame has given power to other people, including his family members (see here: Ailing Rwandan Paul Kagame's Attempts to Cling to Power Through His Daughter Ange Kagame)

Following the arrest, the Rwandan  government has faced unexpected and unprecedented widespread condemnations, including public protests around the world and media coverage. Hence, to calm the critics, a alternative scenario is under consideration: claiming that Ms Yvonne Idamange Iryamugwiza  is mentally sick and lock her into a mental institution.
