If she  wins teh final, Serena will equal Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 grand slam singles titles. It will also be a wonderful gift, as she has been seeking the record for the last 3 years..

Serana William, 37, was  seeded eighth this year, now holds a 101-12 records at Flushing Meadows since  her debut  in 1998. She did very well all around and  exploited the weeknesses of  Elina  Svitolina in going beyond the break points or effectively returning the ball in service games.

After the semi-final win, Serena Williams refused to comment on the next potential oppent, who also was to be known later Thursday. Regardless, the US Open 2019  finals will be watched with anticipation.

By the end of Thursday, the opponent in the Women Finals turned to be the Canadian Bianca Andreescu. She beat Belinda Bencic by 7(7)-6(3), 7-5, in a very tight match.
