Golden State Warriors are leading the Boston Celtics for the NBA Finals. Boston Celtics were expected to face a tough challenge, starting with the first game, on Friday June 3, 2022. They have been struggling, despite major efforts in some games. The fifth game on Monday June 13, 2022 ended with Golden State Warriors scoring 104-94. A fighting force and dominating Golden State Warriors team driven by Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney and Jordan Poole did not give a rest to the Boston Celtics team led by Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard. The competition still appears to be between Stephen Curry and Jayson Tatum, but Golden State Warriors All-Star Andrew Wiggins stood out in the fifth game.
It was the fifth 2022 NBA Finals game and third NBA Finals game at Chase Center, with Golden State Warriors being favored in their home. They were already favorite, following their win, with 107-97, in the 4th game at the TD Garden in Boston, MA. They led the game, 104-94. They led constistently for all the quarters. Boston Celtics did not have much chance, except a close score in Quarter 2.
Golden State Warriors All-Star Andrew Wiggins led the game with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Klay Thompson followed with 21 points and 5 3pt FG and Stephen Curry with 16 points and eight assists. For Boston Celtics, Jayson Tatum led with 27 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Marcus Smart with 20 points.
With the Warriors leading the best-of-seven series 3-2, Game six, that will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2022 may be a decisive event. However, it may be tough for the Warriors to end the season since the game is scheduled at the TD Garden in Boston, MA and may favor Boston Celtics.
