The Women Tennis world number one, American Serena Williams, has defeated world number two, Russian Maria Sharapova, to win her fifth Australian Open and her 19th Grand Slam title. By winning, she has surpassed both Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert in the number  of major singles titles.

Serena Williams overwhelmed Maria Sharapova, beating her 6-3 7-6 (7-5), despite battling a persistent cold. She had to leave the court to vomit, and then came back with a fury. She has beaten Sharapova 16 times in a row, since 2004.

Serena Williams, 33, already in tennis and sports history, has added another star to her crown. Now, the question is what would be next for the unstoppable woman tennis player. At 33 years, when some players usually think about retiring, Williams' game appears to be at its best.
