"Uncompromising craftsmanship. Pioneering innovation. Groundbreaking functionality. Apple Watch Hermès is the culmination of a partnership based on parallel thinking, singular vision, and mutual regard. It is a unique timepiece designed with both utility and beauty in mind. With leather straps handmade by Hermès artisans in France and Hermès watch faces reinterpreted by Apple designers, Apple Watch Hermès is a product of elegant, artful simplicity — the ultimate tool for modern life, " Hermes and Apple advertised the new Apple Watch Hermès.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal,  Apple's Ive said that to make Apple Watch Hermès, Apple had to break some traditions, when Ive approached Hermès about collaborating on a watch last year, before Apple had announced its first wearable device.

“It’s something highly unusual for Apple to do—to talk about an unannounced project,” said Mr. Ive.

Ive calls pointed to the Double Tour as his favorite of the Hermes bands. Double Tour wraps twice around the wrist. According to Ive, the band initially created problems during  testing, with the second loop slipping on the skin and moving underneath the Apple Watch, obscuring the heart rate sensors. This caused the Watch to lock. The final watch designs include extra padding on the bands to stop them from slipping.

The Apple Watch Hermes collection is available from October, with prices between $1100 and $1500.
