The presidential elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have just ended. While the Congolese people and the World are waiting for the results, the on-going war and security dynamics have intensified after a brief pause. At the same time, the government has entered into tensions with the opposition leaders who have been calling for a re-run of disputed elections, while several observers have been reporting on numerous irregularities, raising concerns regarding the accuracy of the election results.
Meanwhile, a new report by UN experts has raised concerns about spreading armed violence in the DRC. Also, as Felix Tshisekedi is expected to be reelected, people are waiting for him to fulfill his promises to overthrow Rwandan dictator Paul Kagame.
In fact, based on the provisional results of the presidential elections so far, the projected winner is the current President Felix Tshisekedi, who is leading with around 77% of the counted votes, while the second candidate, Moise Katumbi has scored only 16% of the votes. Martin Fayulu has scored 4%, while other 17 remaining candidates, including Nobel Peace Price winner Dr. Dennis Mukwege, have each less than 1% of the votes.
Meanwhile, according to sources within the UN, the United Nations Group of Experts has submitted the December 2023 preliminary midterm report regarding the security situation in the DRC. In the report, the UN Group of experts has once again confirmed, with testimonies and visual proofs including photos and videos, that the Rwanda military, under the cover of M23 rebels, is leading the invasion and insecurity in the DRC, providing weapons, soldiers, and any needed equipments and provisions and committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, looting, assassinations, sex crimes, and other crimes against the civilian population.
The report by the UN Group of Experts also emphasizes that the Congolese army, FARDC, has been relying on armed groups, including the Wazalendo resistance composed of civilian volunteers, the soldiers of the Burundian army FNDB wearing Congolese uniforms, and private military companies, such as the Bulgarian company Agemira.

On Going Tension Between Felix Tshisekedi and Paul Kagame.
Given the deteriorating security situation in the DR Congo due to the invasion by Rwanda military under the cover of M23 rebels and as the elections final results are expected soon and Felix Tshisekedi being the projected winner, the focus has turned to Felix Tshisekedi's promises directed against the Rwandan dictator Paul Kagame.
In fact, on Friday night, December 8 2023, President Felix Tshisekedi on a presidential campaign for his reelection, while addressing his supporters, compared the Rwandan dictator Paul Kagame to the late German NAZI leader Adolf Hitler. President Tshisekedi then promised that, if reelected, his first priority is to overthrow the current Rwandan regime led by Paul Kagame.
He added that he has the means to do that, including sophisticated weapons, well trained army units and support from international and regional powers (see here: R Congo - Rwanda : After Comparing Rwandan Dictator Paul Kagame to Hitler, DR Congo President Tshisekedi Promises Overthrowing His Regime If Reelected.).
According to many independent analysts and national and local political leaders in the DR Congo contacted by AfroAmerica Network, the promises to destroy Paul Kagame's regime boosted the image of Felix Tshisekedi in the minds of the Congolese electors. Consequently, the promises to the people of action against Paul Kagame propelled Felix Tshisekedi to the top of the presidential candidates. The sentiment raised by his promise to overthrow Paul Kagame gained Felix Tshisekedi most of the votes from the Congolese people overwhelmingly suffering from war crimes, crimes against humanity, looting, assassinations, sex crimes, and other crimes against the civilian population committed by the Rwandan military under the cover of M23 rebels. .
Hence, the major question is whether the Felix Tshisekedi will fulfill his top promise to the people of DR Congo to invade Rwanda and overthrow Paul Kagame's regime.
Meanwhile, AfroAmerica Network sources in Kigali, Rwanda have reported that the tensions and fears within the Rwandan military are high, with rumors of a potential military coup, widespread desertions, mistrusts, and increasing death casualties among the Rwandan youth forcefully enrolled into M23 rebels.
AfroAmerica Network is still following the dynamics in Kigali, Rwanda and Kinshasa, DRC and getting more information from several sources close to the leaders of DRC and Rwanda.
