Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul , passed away in Detroit,  Michigan,  on August 16, 2018. She is known as one of the greatest signer of soul, gospel and other music genres. Aretha Franklin once said:  "I always felt rock and roll was very, very wholesome music."  Her music inspired people from all over the World for over 6 decades and left them feel whole.

So many people, including celebrities, praised her, from Presidents to music stars, to common people. Probably the most telling tweets are   former US Presidents Barack Obama and the music star Paul McCartney.

In a tweet, Barack Obama said:
"Aretha helped define the American experience. In her voice, we could feel our history, all of it and in every shade—our power and our pain, our darkness and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect. May the Queen of Soul rest in eternal peace."

Paul McCartney said:

"Let’s all take a moment to give thanks for the beautiful life of Aretha Franklin, the Queen of our souls, who inspired us all for many many years. She will be missed but the memory of her greatness as a musician and a fine human being will live with us forever. Love Paul."

AfroAmerica Network would like to pay tribute to the Queen of Soul by listening to one of her many soul healing songs, I never Loved A Man(the Way I love You).
