Updated News: Sources within the Rwandan Department of Military Intelligence  confirm to an AfroAmerica Network correspondent in Kigali that another top Rwandan military commander was arrested. The last person to be arrested is Lieutenant-General  Emmanuel Karake Karenzi. Those arrested now include General James Kabarebe, General Patrick Nyamvumba, General Charles Kayonga, and Lieutenant General Karake Karenzi.

As reported earlier (see here: Rwandan Top Military Leaders, Suspected of Planning a Coup, Arrested in Kigali, Rwanda)  those arrested are being accused of planning a coup and of stealing advanced weapons from the army top secret arsenal depots, for the preparation. Other informations that AfroAmerica Network continues to check point to more top military leaders or high ranking officials within the MInistry of Defense, already under house arrest, for the same accusations.

Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Karake Karenzi  was, as of late, serving as Secretary General of the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS). Lt .Gen. Karake Karenzi was indicted in 2008 along  with 39 other high-ranking Rwandan officials for grave crimes alleged to have been committed between 1990 and 2002, including the crime of genocide and the massacres of more than 6 millions Congolese civilians, Rwandan refugees and displaced, and foreign nationals, including Spanish citizens. .He was arrested on June 20,  2015 in London, on an arrest warrant from Spain.  Defended by UK influential people close to th e Rwandan regime, he was released on August 10,  2015, by the UK justice, arguing that UK laws  "in this case do not cover the acts of non-UK nationals or residents abroad."

Meanwhile, AfroAmerica Network has learned that when ordering the firing and,  later, the arrest of Gen. Patrick Nyamvumba, General Paul Kagame mentionned that Gen Patrick Nyamvuka lied of being a Rwandan Tutsi, when he was most likely a Hutu or a Hima from Uganda and his relatives, including a prominent relative based in Western countries, were not fulfilling the mission assigned to them.

AfroAmerica Network is still closey following the story.
